Adverse Childhood Experiences
Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE’s) are traumatic events that have happened to a child under the age of 18. Whether this experience happens to themselves or their parent, its something unforgettable to them that changes their behavior forever.
These include experiences of abuse (physical, verbal, or sexual), neglect, domestic violence, drug abuse, mental illness of a loved one, incarceration, divorce, and more.
Studies find that one who experiences four or more ACEs are far more likely to develop physical health issues like obesity or diabetes, poor self esteem, mental health issues like depression and possible suicide attempts.
Our goal is to provide a safe place for young adults to communicate with each other, come together, and overcome their past to a brighter future.
